Charles A. Vlodek

Charles A. Vlodek, 59, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of the late Kathryn Jordan Vlodek, who died June 3, 2016.

Chuck was born in Bridgeport on June 13, 1957, beloved son of Charles W. and Sophie Wanda” Tyszka Vlodek of Shelton. 

He was employed as a quality control inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft for 30 years, where he received awards for excellence in service and was a member of the Teamsters. He later worked at Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield. 

He graduated from St. Michaels where he was a Boy Scout and attended Kolbe High School where he earned many accolades as a member of the swim team. Later, he became a lifeguard for the City of Bridgeport. Chuck was a gifted artist, pianist and dancer. He enjoyed gardening, tennis, chess, backgammon and watching boxing. He had a special love for cats, especially his cat Precious”. He was a member of PAL of Bridgeport and a charter member of his motorcycle club. He spent years volunteering for the Special Olympics and Toys for Tots. He was a devoted member of Grace Christian Church and High Acres Church where he had many friends and where his faith in our Lord grew stronger.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by loving brothers, Thomas Vlodek and Paul Vlodek (Joanna) of Shelton, loving sister, Marianne Vass of Stratford, cherished niece, Paige Vass of Stratford and many cousins and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 26, 2016, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral at 10:30 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue in Shelton, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will immediately follow in Lawn Cemetery in Shelton.
