Charles J. Voroschak, age 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 15, 2018, at Bridgeport Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of sixty-three years to Mildred Christian Voroschak.
Mr. Voroschak was born in Simpson, PA on December 31, 1929, son of the late Michael and Anna Voroschak.
A resident of Ansonia since 1994, he was employed as a conductor for Metro North Railroad until his retirement in 1993.
A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict earning the rank of Corporal. Charlie deeply enjoyed fitness and working out, even until the age of 87, and was a runner in many marathons and 5K’s throughout his lifetime.
He earned the nickname, “The Roadrunner” in Ansonia. He also coached and was instrumental in the success of his daughter, Sharon’s, competitive figure skating career. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, loved all animals, and helped coach Little League baseball when his son Patrick played.
In addition to his wife Mildred, he leaves to cherish his memory, a loving daughter, Sharon Voroschak-Papcin (David Sr.) of Ansonia, cherished grandson, David Papcin Jr. of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Patrick Voroschak.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Visiting will take place at the SPINELLIRICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St. in Ansonia on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church.
Interment with U.S. Army military honors will immediately follow Mass in St. John’s Cemetery in Stratford.
