Charles W. Valente Jr., 83, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 29, 2012, at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He was the loving husband of Geraldine Pugelise Valente.
Mr. Valente was born in New Haven on May 25, 1928, son of the late Charles W. Valente Sr. and L. Marion Spears Valente. A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he was a self-employed painter in the Valley area until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having honorably served during WW2. Charles was instrumental in the founding and maintaining of St. Sebastian Italian Men’s Club in Ansonia.
In addition to his wife Geraldine, he is survived by a son, Ricky D. Valente of Marina Del Ray, CA, a daughter, Paula Fink of Naugatuck, three brothers, George Valente of Hamden, Nelson Valente and Gary Valente of Ansonia, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Charles W. Valente III and brothers, Norman and Butch Valente.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday April 2, 2012, at 9:00 am (Please Meet Directly) at Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive, in Ansonia. Burial will be private. There will be no visiting hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
