Cheryl Ann Abbott

Cheryl Ann Abbott, 59, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2012, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her former husband, Donald Abbott.

Cheryl was born in Derby on July 6, 1953, beloved daughter of Marguerite Gaetano Candelli of Seymour and the late Chester Karabeinikoff. A resident of Seymour for forty years, she was employed as the Office Administrator at Hanger Prosthetics in Stratford for seventeen years. Cheryl enjoyed gardening, crocheting, arts & crafts, and dancing. 

In addition to her mother Marge, she is survived by a loving son, Justin D. Abbott of Shelton, a loving daughter, Melissa Abbott of Seymour, loving brothers, Greg Karabeinikoff of Oakland, CA and Steven Karabeinikoff and his wife Doreen of Hamden, cherished grandchildren, Courtney and Christopher Abate of Seymour, Caitlyn Abbott of Ansonia, and McKenzie Abbott of Shelton, nieces, Rachel Flanagan (Kevin) of Hamden and Renee Karabeinikoff of Hamden, aunts, Elizabeth Sardo of Ansonia, Dolores Bailey of Derby, and Lena Cammarata of Woodbridge, dear cousins, Donna Henry and Gina Fourtin of Ansonia and Laura Fornito of Waterbury, and several other cousins and many close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday October 5, 2012 at 8:00 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Route 67, in Oxford. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
