Cheryl Frouge Miller age 65 of Ansonia passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving children after a long courageous battle with cancer. Cheryl was born on November 1, 1959, to Joseph Frouge and Eleanor Capasso Frouge in Bridgeport, CT.
Cheryl graduated from Gateway Community College in 2013 fulfilling her lifelong dream of receiving her Nursing Degree. Cheryl enjoyed her time as an ICU nurse, creating lasting connections with her patients, their families, and her colleagues. Cheryl eventually went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University. After receiving this degree, she proceeded to teach future nurses.
Cheryl was an avid bowler who was a member of numerous bowling teams. She was the best hostess- who could throw a party at a moment’s notice, and everyone was always invited. Cheryl enjoyed attending concerts and was sure to never miss a show. Puzzling became one of her favorite pastimes especially with her son. Her absolute greatest joy in life was playing anything and everything with the light of her life – her granddaughter, Theresa Rose.
Cheryl is survived by her children Keith Miller of Bethany and Kelly Miller Puglia of Ansonia, her cherished granddaughter Theresa Rose Puglia of Ansonia, her brothers and sisters- Joseph Frouge IV (Debbie), Joann Ferreri (Frank), Carol Moccaie, Clark Frouge (Sheryl), Stephen Frouge, Michael Frouge (Joann), and John Frouge (Heather), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with many cherished friends. Cheryl was predeceased by both her parents, her brothers Robert Frouge and Frank Frouge, and her sister Linda Rose.
A special thank you to Dr. Gowda and the caregivers at Griffin Hospital, Dr. Dhanjal, Barbara Ade, APRN, Nancy, RN, and the entire care team at Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Cheryl asks that friends and family please refrain from wearing perfume and arrive in their favorite concert attire.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
