Christa Spigarolo, age 75, passed away on Sunday, December 18th at McLean Heath Center in Simsbury, CT with family members by her side.
Christa was born January 26, 1947 in Germany to Margaret DeVries Pingle and Thaddaus Jakisch. She came to the US as a young bride in 1964, settling in Ansonia in 1971. She held various positions at companies in the area, most recently retiring from Melissa and Doug toy company in 2021. Christa was known for her strong work ethic, love for her family and was a woman of few words. She also loved to drive fast cars.
Christa is survived by her longtime partner, William Botsford of Ansonia, CT and his son, Stephen (Rosetta) Botsford of Uxbridge, MA, daughters Anja (Bruce) Vitale of Tampa, FL, and Peggy (Michael) Thomsen of Simsbury, CT. She leaves behind grandchildren Jamie Vitale, Jordan Vitale, Mason Thomsen, London Botsford and Xenia Botsford.
Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. The family will spread her ashes at a location she has chosen privately. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with her arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Christa’s honor to The Closer to Free Fund for Smilow Cancer Hospital.
