Christopher H. Blue

Christopher H. Blue, age 57, of Derby entered into rest on January 29, 2022 after a courageous battle with lung disease. 

He was born in Derby on Nov. 18, 1964, son of the late Benjamin and Carol (Flaherty) Blue and was a lifelong valley resident. Chris was a graduate of Derby High School class of 1984. 

A standout wrestler, nicknamed the Chief”, he placed third in the New England tournament unlimited weight class. He was a jack-of-all trades, had a heart of gold and would repair just about anything for anyone. He was employed in construction for most of his career. He had a tremendous work ethic, a humble and kind man with strong morals and convictions. 

He was a loyal friend to all who knew him, retaining many childhood friendships. He was a dog lover having raised, trained, and nurtured a furry friend consistently throughout his life, starting with Rufus and ending with his dear poodle Nillo. He enjoyed fishing and sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren compete. Over the last year he enjoyed many trips to New Hampshire with his friend Dave, seafood dinners, car shows and fishing on Long Island sound. 

He is survived by his children Richard Blue (Brianna) and Ariel Blue Belleza (Brian), his siblings, Carol Molnar (Alan), Benjamin Blue (Rita) and Timothy Blue (Jeannine), his longtime devoted companion Jessica Miller, grandchildren Xavier, Cayden, Julius, Alexa, Brian and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Blue. 

Friends may visit his family on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Online condolences at www.adzimafh.com
