Claire (Campanelli) Confinante, age 95, entered into eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2020, at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Confinante Sr. of 56 years.
Claire was born in Shelton on November 12, 1924, daughter of the late Mariano and Stella Gasperini Campanelli. A resident of Ansonia for 65 years, she was employed at U.S. Surgical in North Haven as a Medical Assembler for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and spending time at her home in Ansonia as well as any of her children’s homes that needed attending to. She loved being surrounded by her loving family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Jude Church (Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish) in Derby, CT.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Joseph D. Confinante Jr. of Ansonia, daughters, Diane Mead (Paul) of Orange and Donna Duclos (Kenneth) of Oxford, grandchildren, Nicole Fitzgerald (Chris), Joseph Confinante, Kenneth Duclos and Jenna Gerosa (James), great-grandchildren, Lyla and Carter Fitzgerald and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Crowley Confinante, brothers, Quinto, Secondo, Louis and Alphonse “Sonny” Campanelli, sisters, Phyllis Clifford, Mary Valentino, Dora Rene Wheeler and dear cousin, Violet Criscuolo.
Per the current health guidelines, her funeral service will be private with entombment in Mount Saint Peter’s Mausoleum in Derby.
