Claire Pascuzzo, age 89, of New Haven entered into rest on Friday August 9, 2024 at Mozaic Senior Life in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick John Pascuzzo. She was born in Somerville, MA on August 16, 1934 the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Newman) Rapport.
Claire attended Boston University and moved to Derby in 1981 from Hamden. She worked as a Special Education Aid in the Derby School System for many years prior to her retirement. She was also the 1972 President of Sisterhood at Temple Beth Sholom in Hamden and was very involved with Sisterhood and the Temple for many, many years.
She is survived by her daughters Debra (Portnoy) Knaub and her husband Ralph, Marsha (Portnoy) Cilento and her husband John, Susan (Portnoy) Falvey and her husband Edward and Allyson Portnoy, her grandchildren Jacob, Alexander, Samantha, Gina, Sarah, Brendan and Joseph, her brother Robert Rapport and nephew Matthew. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Sandra Rapport.
Friends are invited to her funeral service on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Her burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Shiva will be held at the Falvey Home, 812 Hillcrest Rd., Orange on Wednesday from 2PM to 5 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in Claire’s honor to the CLASP Homes at www.clasphomes.org.
