Clyde J. Gourley

Clyde J. Gourley, age 91, of Shelton, entered into rest on Sunday March 11,2018 in St.Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Ann (Cornforth) Gourley. 

Mr. Gourley was born in Punxsutawney, PA, son of the late Clyde and Valetta (Borger) Gourley and was a resident of Shelton for 41 years, previously living in Manchester, NH. Mr. Gourley served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War.
He was employed for many years as a National Representative for the American Cancer Society. He was a founding member of the Sound Cyclist Bicycle Club, an early member of the Granite State Wheelmen Club, a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and a former ScoutMaster for Troop 91 in Manchester, NH.

Mr. Gourley was the beloved father of Eric Gourley, Blair Gourley and his wife Allyson, Karl Gourley and Katharyn Millo. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Sarah Ross Gourley. He is the cherished grandfather of Brendan Gourley, Reid Gourley and his wife Katie, and Meredith Pelton, and her husband Nick. He is the loving great grandfather of Dexter and Zoe Gourley.

Friends may greet his family on Friday from 4 to 6 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. At 6 PM a funeral service with a time for sharing remembrances will be held.
