Concetta Francucci, 97, entered into eternal rest on January 16, 2017, at Shady Knoll H.C. in Seymour. She was the beloved wife of the late Carlo Francucci.
Mrs. Francucci was born in San Valentino, Abruzzi, Italy on March 16, 1919, daughter of the late Gaetano and Domenica DiTomasso. She came to Ansonia from Italy in 1956. Concetta enjoyed cooking and gardening and most importantly, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by loving daughters, Maria Montepara (Mario) of Ansonia, Diva Francucci of Derby and Clelia Beaty (Steven) of Port St. Lucie, FL, a son in law, Giuseppe Monaco of Waterbury, cherished grandchildren, Enrico Montepara (Corinne) of Ansonia, Nicola Montepara (Debbie) of PA, Rosanna Skurat (John) of Naugatuck, Loredana Ferriola (James) of Wallingford, Carla DiGirolamo of Milford, Linda Armistead (Joshua) of Ansonia, Angela Nelson (Russell) of Farmington, Mark Mudge of FL, Gloria Powanda (Matthew) of Prospect and Marisa Brimbecombe (Geoff) of Oxford, great-grandchildren, Michelle, Cassandra, Nicole, Rebecca, Courtney, Christopher, Taylor, Nicholas, Gabriella, Jared, Brianna, Zachary, Joshua, Christian, Brooke, Colin, Ryan, Morgan, Julianna and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ada Monaco, brothers, Valentino, Antonio, Pietro and Juiliano DiTomasso and a sister, Ada DiTomasso.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 20, 2017, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, her funeral will commence at 10:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
