Conchetta “Connie” DiMauro, age 93, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, March 26, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Sebastian Michael DiMauro. Connie was born in Melilli, Sicily, Italy on Jan. 7, 1919 daughter of the late Paul and Maria Milardo Fazzino.
Connie, her late husband Mike, and their family ran the former DiMauro’s Dairy Bar in Shelton for over 49 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed traveling to Ocala, FL with her husband during their retirement.
Connie was the beloved mother of Paul DiMauro and his wife, Diane, and the late Nicholas DiMauro. She is the cherished grandmother of Deborah Reeder and her husband Buddy, Paul DiMauro, Jr. and his wife Diane, Michael DiMauro and his wife Jodi, Lori Cartenuto and her husband Mark. She is the loving mother-in-law of Nancy DiMauro, and the sister of Sofia Fazzino Cutrale, Giuseppe Fazzino, and Vincenzo Fazzino. She also leaves 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her son she is predeceased by 5 sisters, Carmela Fazzino, Lucia Fazzino Gianni, Guiseppa Fazzino Morello, Filomena Fazzino DiBattista, Sebastiana Fazzino, Vincenza Fazzino LoGiudice, and a brother Sebastiano Fazzino
Friends may call on Thursday from 11am – 1pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 1:15pm for at Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
