Cristina (Papale) Bellone, age 90, of Derby entered into rest on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Mario S. Bellone. Cristina was born in Bellona, Caserta, Italy, daughter of the late Antimo and Maria (Soriano) Papale and was a Derby resident since 1959.
She worked at Griffin Hospital for 22 years until her retirement. Cristina enjoyed cooking, crocheting, canning and singing Italian House Party songs. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
Cristina was the beloved mother of Mario Bellone and his wife Donna, Maria Lajeunesse and her husband Marcel and Tina Coppola and sister-in-law of Bertha Papale. She was the loving grandmother of Nina Kekacs, James Anderson and his wife Christa, Salvatore Coppola, Leah Coppola, Evan Bellone, Katharine Bellone and Heather Lajeunesse and great grandmother of Ryder and Chance Kekacs and Hayden and Greyson Anderson. Cristina was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Papale, two sisters Josephine Fusco and Michalina Dinuzzo and a granddaughter Jennifer Lajeunesse.
On Wednesday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Her entombment will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
