Cynthia B. Goldberg, 59, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2014, under the care of Vitas Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. She was the beloved wife of Donald R. Goldberg.
Cynthia was born in Baltimore, MD on Dec. 5, 1954, daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn Poplaski Baughn. She was employed as a speech pathologist and supervisor of the speech department at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in New Haven. Since 1997, she was employed as a speech pathologist for the Ansonia Board of Education. Cindy enjoyed being an artist, writer and a singer and guitarist in the J K Baughn Band since the 1970s.
In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by a loving son, Travis R. Goldberg of Derby, two brothers, Larry Baughn (Alice) of Oakville and Richard Baughn (Alice) of Leesburg, FL, aunt, Helen Hassett of Oxford, dear friend, Deborah Messina of Middletown and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Cynthia’s Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday July 10, 2014, at 10:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the education fund of Travis Goldberg through the funeral home. Checks should be made payable to “College America FBO Travis Goldberg”.
