Daniel Popiolek, age 37, of Beacon Falls, beloved son of Eugeniusz and Zofia Berda Popiolek, passed away on June 5, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Derby on August 28, 1987, he was raised in Ansonia and was a 2005 graduate of Emmett O’Brien Technical High School.
Daniel was a dedicated employee of Farrel Corporation for 18 years, where he worked as a skilled electrician and technical advisor. During his youth, Daniel was actively involved in Ansonia Youth Soccer and proudly served as captain of the Emmett O’Brien Soccer Team. A passionate follower of the sport throughout his life, he was a devoted fan of the Polish National Team and Manchester City FC. He also closely followed Major League Baseball and the NFL, rarely missing a game played by his beloved New York Mets and Green Bay Packers. Among his most cherished memories were his visits to Poland to spend time with his extended family. Daniel will be remembered for his remarkable mechanical ability, his generous spirit, and his deep devotion to family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving brother, Tomasz Popiolek, and his wife, Jordan, of Seymour; as well as his cherished nephew, Owen P. Popiolek. He is also mourned by his godparents, Jadwiga Mankus and Ireneusz Zajac, along with their families, and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins both in the United States and Poland.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Czeslaw and Stanislawa Popiolek, Franciszek and Wiktoria Berda, and his uncle, Jan Popiolek.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
