Danny W. Yeager Sr., age 81, entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the loving husband of Constance “Connie” Wysocki Yeager.
Danny was born in Hamlin, West Virginia on July 10, 1941, son of the late Homer and Elva Edwards Yeager. Danny enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and was stationed at the Nike Base in Ansonia where shortly after he met the love of his life and shared almost 62 years of marriage prior to his passing. After proudly serving his country, he went on to also serve in the National Guard for over 10 years. A resident of Ansonia since 1958, Danny was employed as a petroleum inspector, until his retirement. He was a member of the Order of Free Masons where he served as Master Mason. During his retirement years, he enjoyed working as a local crossing guard. Danny liked flea markets, restoring old furniture, history, Jeopardy and being a handyman around the house. He spent many years enjoying fishing, camping and trips to the casino. His 7 grandchildren meant the world to him. He always gave his full attention to each of them, loved teaching them his handyman skills and was always interested in what was going on in their lives. He was a loving grandfather, husband and father who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife Connie, Danny leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughters, Karen Kraszewski (Daniel) and Kelly Franco (Marc), a sister, Patricia Hatfield, grandchildren, Sara, Samuel, Hannah and Luke Kraszewski and Marc, Jake and Sean Franco, his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Yeager, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Danny W. Yeager Jr., brothers, Eugene and Dowell Yeager and sisters, Louise Wilson and Peggy Meade.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 5:00 pm a celebration in memory of Danny’s life will take place with Reverend Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating. At 6:00 pm United States military honors will be accorded. Burial will be private.
