Darnell Lamar Cooks, 25

Darnell Lamar Cooks, a 25-year-old Ansonia resident and father to his two-year-old daughter Darnaija, died June 18 in a car accident in Bridgeport. 

He was born January 6, 1986 in Derby, son of the late Glenn Jamison and Betty Jean Cooks of Ansonia. 

He was a graduate of Ansonia High School, class of 2005. 

In addition to his mother and daughter, he is survived by his fiancé Amanda Shaw of Ansonia, 2 brothers, Glenn Jamison Jr. & Terrell Rose, sisters Charmane Cooks, Sheilah & Charlice Brown & Sheonte Douglas, grandparents Lucas & Gale Byrd, Dorothy Jamison, and special aunts, Brenda Lathrop, Evon Tedder & Ruthie Harris. 

He was predeceased by two sisters, Keyjuana Parker & Shaneya Brown & grandparents Hazel & Mary Cooks. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from The Evangel Temple C.O.G.I.C. of Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
