David A. Christman, age 60, entered eternal rest on November 3, 2023, in his home.
David was born in Derby on March 18, 1963, son of the late Rudolph Schmecker and Jacqueline Boulay Sarkes. A proud veteran, David honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a tool maker for most of his life until his retirement. David was a collector of folding knives and loved animals, especially his dog Sweetie.
David leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Ronald V. Schmecker Sr. (Elizabeth) of Naugatuck, a sister, Diane S. Krivda of Ansonia, nieces and nephews, Suzanne King-Smith (Noah) of Derby, Stacie Alterisio (Ralph) of Middlebury, Ronald V. Schmecker Jr. (Jennifer) of Naugatuck and Peter T. Schmecker (Brittany) of Agawam MA. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Krivda.
All are invited to attend a celebration of David’s life on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm in St. Augustine Cemetery in Seymour with Deacon Victor Lembo officiating.
