David Armstrong

David Armstrong, age 81, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2023, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Joyce (Saffo) Armstrong.

He was born on January 22, 1942, in Hackensack, New Jersey, son of the late Warren D. and Ethel R. (Stillwell) Armstrong. Dave proudly served his country with the United States Navy. He was a record and book manager for Caldor, starting his career in Stamford and then transferring to the Derby Location. He, along with his wife Joyce, owned and operated Space Travelers Trading Post in Derby and Witz End Comic Book Store in Naugatuck. Dave’s first love was being a Blues Band Singer, where he sang and played harmonica in several bands and made many albums. In 2001, his band won the CT Blues Magazine’s Blues Band of the Year Award and received a trip to Memphis.

Dave is the loving father of Jim Arnold and his wife Sue, Mike Arnold and his wife Christine, Tammy Krasnicki and her husband Joseph, loving grandfather of Lisa Krasnicki, Stuart Krasnicki, Vanessa Krasnicki, Kelly Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Justin Arnold, Jesse Arnold, and brother of Phyllis Chambers.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. His funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m..
