David Mikita, age 78, a longtime Shelton resident peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Monday July 8, 2024.
He was born in Derby on April 15, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Patricia (Krogulski) Mikita. Dave proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force. Following his time in the Air Force, Dave went on to work in his hometown community as a Postal Worker for many years until his retirement. He would then continue to stay active in the Shelton community by taking on the role of Funeral Assistant for the Riverview Funeral Home. He took great pride in his work and connecting with the people of Shelton.
He is survived by his daughters Nicole and Casey Mikita, his brother Joseph Mikita and his niece Jana Mikita.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday August 10 from 1 to 3 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. His funeral service with military honors will begin in the funeral home at 3 PM. Burial will be private. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.riverviewfh.com.
