David P. Szostek, age 67, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on December 27, 2023, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the loving husband of Jodi Peck Szostek.
David was born in Derby on June 30, 1956, son of the late John and Jean Danielczuk Szostek. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, David was employed for seventeen years as a machinist for Schick Razor Company in Milford. He was kind to everyone and loved to be around people and laugh. David enjoyed trips to the casino, junk collecting, scrapping, and tinkering in his workshop. He also liked watching YouTube and Ancient Aliens. David was a fan of UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Every Friday, David and his sisters spent family time together over a cup of coffee.
In addition to his wife Jodi, David leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Courtney Szostek of Ansonia, and Sarah J. Szostek of New Haven, a son, Joshua Szostek of West Haven, sisters, Irene Hudak of Shelton, Bernice Bergeron (Fred) of Beacon Falls, Sandra O’Bidinski of Seymour, Pamela Killianey of Seymour, and Teri Reilly (Donald) of Prospect and a granddaughter, Katherine Marrow of Ansonia along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Edward C. Szostek, and John Szostek.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, January 1, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday morning, his funeral will begin at 9:15 from the funeral home then proceed to St. Joseph Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
