David William Winblad, age 85, formerly of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at St. Raphael’s Hospital.
He was the devoted husband of the late Kathleen (Brannigan) Winblad. David was born in Bridgeport on February 3, 1935 son of the late Nicholas and Carrie (Booth) Winblad. He worked at Fieldview Farms for many years until his retirement.
David was a member of the Housatonic Boat Club and Teamsters Local 191. Some of his favorite hobbies were sailing, listening to live music, fixing motors and clocks. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Raphael’s Hospital Step Down Unit for showing their father compassion and love in the last moments of his life. They truly went above and beyond for risking their own safety for his comfort.
David is the beloved father of Anne Marie Ward and her husband Kevin, Laura Wakelee and her husband Keith and Karen Funaro and her husband Michael and loving grandfather of Matthew, Haylee, Emma and Charlotte. Due to the current pandemic health crisis, a private service will be held.
