Dean Francis Taylor, Jr., age 79, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, October, 30, 2018 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol (Euerle) Taylor. Dean was born in Derby on August 15, 1939, son of the late Dean Francis Taylor, Sr. and Mary (Osinki) Taylor, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
He was an entrepreneur and former proprietor of two local businesses, the East Village Inn/ Jeremiah’s Bar & Grille and Continental Credit Services. Dean previously served in the National Guard and was a member of the Elks Club in Derby. He was an avid supporter of UConn Men’s and Women’s basketball and a longtime NY Jets fan. Dean and Carol enjoyed many years of family vacations at their condo in Ocean City, MD.
He is the cherished father of Kim (Taylor) Manning and her husband Brad Manning of Cheshire, and Eric Taylor and his wife Amy Taylor of Derby. He enjoyed very special relationships with his beloved grandchildren, Kyle Manning of New York City and Andrew Manning of Hartsdale, NY, who were the lights of his life. Dean was predeceased by his sister, Karen (Taylor) Lombardi of Watertown.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday, November 2, from 4 to 7 PM. On Saturday, November 3, friends are invited directly to St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
