Deborah “Debbie” A. Bakis, 55, entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford CT.
Debbie was born on May 8, 1957, in Shelton, CT to Richard and Anita Waterhouse. She married the late Gary Steven Bakis in May 1978 and were married for over 30 years.
Debbie was a long time resident of Ansonia where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Shelton at the age of 20. She graduated from Shelton High School class of 1975. Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved mother Anita and husband Gary.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving children Gary Bakis of Ansonia CT and daughter Denise Bakis Donnelly of Hardeeville SC; brother Richard Waterhouse of Warwick RI; her beloved Aunt Eunice and Uncle Eddie Sabatini; her adoring nieces Alicia, Gabrielle and Anita Waterhouse; cousins Barbara, Lisa and Linda. Debbie enjoyed collecting dolls, antiquing and developed a love for bird and butterfly watching with her fiancé Bill Banks of Seymour CT.
She was a devoted mother taking care of her family and had a special bond with her pugs Dylan, Tucker and Lola. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Connecticut Hospice for their support in her final days.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Debbie will be held on April 27, 2012 10:AM at Chris Episcopal Church, South Cliff St. Ansonia CT.
