Diana B. “Dee” Carey, age 72, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by her loving family. For 52 years she was the cherished wife of Patrick Carey. Dee was born in Somerset, KY on January 10, 1952, daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Moore) Buck, and lived in Shelton for much of her life.
She worked for many years at SNET and later in IT Management for Computer Sciences Corporation before her retirement. Dee was eternally devoted to her grandchildren and was a tireless supporter at every game and performance. For everyone whose life she touched, Dee was the embodiment of kindness and sincerity.
She is the beloved mother of Jennifer Carey-Walker and her husband Clint and Christopher Carey and his wife Dorette and beaming grandmother of Keenan, Logan, Mia, and Lila. She is also survived by her brother, John Buck and his wife Diane, her sister, Mary Kehrer and her husband Richard, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Petey. She was a Friend of Bill W.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. On Friday, friends are invited to meet directly at the New Life Church, 28 Hedgehog Rd, Trumbull, for her funeral service at 10 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
