Diana L. Zielinski

Diana L. Zielinski, 66, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2013, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Zielinski.

Mrs. Zielinski was born in Derby on Nov. 18, 1946, daughter of the late Philip and Ruth Atkinson Balisciano. A resident of Derby since 1972, she was co-owner of the former Happy Apple Craft Store in both Derby and Ansonia and also worked as a hairdresser.

She is survived by a loving daughter, Laurelann Goode of Derby, two devoted brothers, Philip E. Balisciano Jr. and Mark E. Balisciano of Ansonia, three cherished grandchildren, Lauren and Elise Zielinski and John Goode of Derby, sister in laws, Carol Hein of Derby and Sophie Kuczynski of Prospect and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.

On Wednesday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
