Diane Burleigh Mancini

Diane Burleigh Mancini, Ansonia resident and beloved wife of 55 years to Alan Mancini, entered into eternal rest on January 16th surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 17, 1952 in Derby, daughter of the late Walter and Virginia Thompson Burleigh. 

Diane was a devoted wife, mother and proud grandmother who was beloved by her family and considered them to be her greatest blessings. Diane was a lifelong active member of The First United Methodist Church on 47 Franklin St. in Ansonia, where she also taught Sunday School and served in various activities. She was a woman of great faith. 

She loved children and delighted in teaching them the word of God. She also had a heart for those less fortunate and gave generously to those in need. In addition, Diane also worked in the Ansonia school system for a number of years in special education classrooms, a job she loved and found very rewarding. 

In addition to her devoted husband Alan, she leaves to cherish her memory daughters Nicole Sprague of Naugatuck & Jennifer Monroe of Farmington, sisters Geraldine Toler of Naugatuck, Cheryl Gillick of Seymour and Patricia Morissette of Ansonia, grandchildren Adam & Ashley Sprague and Jeffrey & Kaylee Fell, her beloved dog Harley and several nieces & nephews. 

She was predeceased by her daughter Allison Mancini-Hlavna and sisters Linda DeAngelis & Gail Puro. 

Diane will be greatly missed by her family and friends and by all those that knew and loved her. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 11:00 a.m. from The First United Methodist Church, Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been privileged with arrangements. Friends who wish may make donations to her church.
