Dolores Vagnini, age 79, of Derby entered into rest on Wednesday Aug. 8, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late George J. Vagnini.
Mrs. Vagnini was born in Derby Oct.5, 1932 daughter of the late John and Stella Serevitch and was a lifelong Derby resident.
She was employed for over 30 years at the W.E. Bassett Company as an assembler until her retirement 14 years ago.
She was a former member of John Collins American Legion Post # 24 Auxiliary in Derby, and was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church.
She is the beloved mother of Peter Vagnini, Paula Brooks and her husband Harry, and Pam Wheeler, and her husband Paul. She is the loving sister of Joan Tomkiewicz, and also leaves 6 cherished grandchildren, a great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet her family on Friday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Saturday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Jude’s Church Derby. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Derby.
