Dominick Boanno, 73, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 31, 2016, in his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine Coppola Boanno, who recently passed on May 4, 2016.
Mr. Boanno was born in Mondragone, Caserta, Italy on August 22, 1942, son of the late Giovanni and Gaetana Giacinto Boanno. A resident of Derby for fifty years, he was employed at The Kerite Company in Seymour for twenty five years until his retirement. Dominick enjoyed cooking, winemaking, gardening, telling stories and reminiscing about the “old days” and above all spending time with his family.
He is survived by loving sons, John Boanno of Derby and Dominick Boanno (Erica) of West Haven, a loving daughter, Donna Carloni (Christopher) of Derby, brothers, Frank Boanno and Marcello Boanno (Donna) of Ansonia and Salvatore Boanno (Laura) of Derby, sisters, Giustine Boanno and Lucia Boanno of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Amelia and Cristina Carloni, Nicholas, Ava, Taylor and Joseph Boanno and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Antonio Boanno and a sister, Carmelina Consales.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 5, 2016, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
