Donald G. Bell, age 80, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Harbor Village in New London. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to the late Marianne (Reyen) Bell. He was born in Derby on April 6, 1943, son of the late Hazen and Ellen (Scott) Bell. Donald was raised in Ansonia before becoming a longtime resident of Shelton.
He graduated from Hobart College in New York. After graduating he worked as a teacher at Long Hill School in Shelton. It was there where he met his wife, Marianne, who was also working for the Shelton Public Schools. He also worked as a phone system trainer. Donald enjoyed reading, singing in the choir, and solving puzzle games.
He is the beloved father of Donald Bell Jr. and his wife Meredith, and Alisa Bell and her
husband Raphael Panfili. He also leaves behind two cherished granddaughters, Carina and Laura, and a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Bell.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Edward F.
Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in
the parlor. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
