Donald Gerald Girard

Donald Gerald Girard, age 83 of Seymour, the beloved husband of 50 years to Marianne Brezosky Girard, peacefully entered into eternal rest on, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Girard was in born Manchester, New Hampshire, on April 18, 1933, the son of the late Victor and Bernice Ruiter Girard.

Donald was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church. He was a longtime self employed carpenter. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Seabees during the Korean War. Donald was a professional water-skier. He was a member of the senior snow skiers patrol at Powder Ridge and Mohawk Mountains. Donald was a 4th Degree member of Assembly #1857 Knights of Columbus of Seymour, since 1968 and served as a honor guard member. He will be sadly missed by all and will always remain forever in our hearts.

In addition to his beloved wife Marianne, Donald is survived by his two caring sons Jeffrey (Leslie) Girard of Seymour and Victor Girard of St.Louis, MO, a loving daughter Melissa Girard of Naugatuck. He is also survived by his three cherished grandchildren Brianna, Hilary and Donte 

Friends and relatives may call the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, on Monday July 25, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 10:00 am (Directly) at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment with full honors will be at State of Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery, Middletown. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Donald’s memory may be made to The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, through the funeral home.
