Donald I. Schryver

Donald I. Schryver, 84, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2016, at Birmingham Health Center in Derby. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. Davi Schryver.

Mr. Schryver was born in Seymour on August 15, 1932, son of the late Charles and Helen Hagadorn Schryver. A resident of Ansonia for 62 years, he was employed by Dalling Construction in Trumbull until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Don was an avid fisherman, a fan of the NY Yankees and always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by loving sons, Michael A. Schryver (Susan) and Joseph Schryver (Sally) of Ansonia and James J. Schryver of Seymour, a loving daughter, Debra M. Narowski of Ansonia, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Schryver and sisters, Dorothy Mossman, Lillian Speed and Harriet DeLuzio.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 4, 2016, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
