Donna M. Cummings, age 62, a resident of Ansonia for twenty-four years, entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2018, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Edward C. Cummings Jr.
Donna was born in Bridgeport on October 2, 1955, loving daughter of Doris Frechette Kiser of Ft. Myers, FL and the late William Panton. She was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport and later Housatonic Community College where she received a degree in nursing. Donna was a devoted communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and served as a Eucharist Minister. She was kind, loved to help others, volunteered at the Spooner House and was a member of The Secular Franciscan Order, (OFS).
In addition to her husband Ed and mother Doris, she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, David Wargo of Ansonia, Samuel Wargo-Cummings (Lynn) of Bridgeport and Daniel Cummings (Alicia) of NC, a brother, Patrick Panton (Susan) of Port St. Lucie, FL, sisters, Laurie Picerno and Tammy Simmons (Anthony) of Ft. Myers, FL, Therese Shea (Christopher) of Stratford and Barbara Panton of Trumbull, cherished grandchildren, Sadie Jinicolla, Ayden Wargo, Abby, Johnny and Samantha Wargo-Cummings, Taylor Marenyi-Cummings and Ryan and Cameron Cummings as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Krista M. Cummings, a brother, Michael Panton and a sister, Judy Roberts.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
