Donna M. Pysz

Donna M. Pysz, age 67, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2020, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved and devoted wife of forty-six years to Robert (Bob) Pysz.

Donna was born in Derby on December 9, 1952, daughter of the late Gino and Antoinette Conte DiMauro. 

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Connecticut State University, Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport and 6th year Administrative Certificate from Southern Connecticut State University. Donna was employed as a 7th grade science teacher for the Derby Board of Education for over thirty-seven years until her retirement in 2011. There, she created many lifelong friendships with her students and colleagues. 

Donna was an advocate for Seymour Pink where she volunteered and participated in their fundraising events. In previous years, she was also a volunteer counselor for Catholic Family Services. 

In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by the light of her life, her son, Robert J. Pysz Jr. (Lindsey Nelson) of Seymour, several nieces, nephews and friends and canine buddy, Boss, that never left her side during her illness. She was predeceased by her brother, Gino DiMauro Jr.

The Pysz family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital for their support and kindness throughout Donna’s tireless fight. To the countless number of friends in the Seymour area, we wish to express our sincere thanks for your love and support you demonstrated to Donna and her family over the years.

Sadly, per the current health guidelines, her funeral service will be private with inurnment in the family plot in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby. 

A public memorial will be held in the future and will be announced by the family. Contributions in Donna’s memory may be made to Seymour Pink Inc. PO Box 333 Seymour, CT 06483.
