Donna M. Witkowski, age 84, of Shelton, entered into rest on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She was the devoted wife of the late Frank Witkowski, Jr.
Donna was born in Worcester, MA on January 14, 1928, daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Goddard) Jolly, and she lived in Shelton for 30 years, coming from Monroe.
She was a PE teacher at the David Wooster Junior High School in Stratford in the 1950’s before raising her family. Donna was very active in the Huntington Congregational Church, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed her family and friends.
She is the beloved mother of John Witkowski (Kim), Mary Witkowski, Elizabeth Witkowski (Kevin), Joseph Witkowski (Carolyn), and James Witkowski (Sandy). She also leaves a sister, Shelda Stewart, five cherished grandchildren, James, Laura, Adrienne, Joseph, and Anna, and one great granddaughter, Luna. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Jolly.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. On Wednesday, friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM at the Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church Street, Shelton. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
