Dora P. LaMonico

Dora P. LaMonico, 96, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 23, 2011, at the Hewitt Health & Rehabilitation in Shelton. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel J. LaMonico Sr. 

Mrs. LaMonico was born in Derby on April 20, 1915, daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Urbano Piscioniere. A lifelong resident of Derby, she was employed at Schick Razor in Milford for several years. Her greatest joy was cooking and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by a beloved son, Samuel J. LaMonico Jr. and his wife Judith of Orange, a sister, Florence Speranzini of FL, two cherished grandchildren, Elisha Gesseck and her husband Richard of Cheshire and Darryl LaMonico and his wife Lisa of Woodbridge, four cherished great-grandchildren, Jake, Ben, and Julia Gesseck, and Adriana LaMonico. She was predeceased by a son, Carmen LaMonico, brothers, Joseph and Frank Piscioniere, and sisters, Rosalie Curto, Mary Esposito, and Edith Piscioniere. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday May 25, 2011, at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on WEDNESDAY MORNING from 9:30 am until the procession leaves for church from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
