Doris M. Wirtemburg

Doris M. Wirtemburg, age 85, entered peaceful rest on May 13, 2023, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Wirtemburg Sr.

Doris was born in Bridgeport on August 16, 1937, daughter of the late Howard and Mary Towler Deitz. A resident of Ansonia for twenty-five years, Doris was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She enjoyed shopping and watching soap operas. 

Doris leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Joseph W. Wirtemburg Jr. (Diane) of Stratford and John W. Wirtemburg (Jill) of Naugatuck, daughters, Elizabeth A. Wirtemburg Hebert (Leo) of Bristol and Mary Ellen Wirtemburg of Derby, brothers, Wayne Deitz (Beth) of Fairfield, Charles Deitz of Fairfield, Albert Billy” Deitz (Terri) of Woodbury and Howard Deitz (Veronica) of Vermont, a sister, Eleanor Smith (Steve) of New Mexico, grandchildren, Jennifer Landis (Gary) of FL, Richard Morgan (Brittany) of FL, Teresa Wirtemburg of Stratford, Andrew Wirtemburg of Stratford, Ryan Wirtemburg of Darien, Joseph J. Wirtemburg of Derby and Tara Wirtemburg of Derby, along with nine great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Howard E. Wirtemburg, a brother, John Deitz and a sister, Jean Soares.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday May 19, 2023, all are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:00 pm by meeting directly at the mausoleum in Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield, with Rev.
