Doris Roscoe

Doris Roscoe, of Summerfield Gardens, Shelton, the beloved wife for 53 years of the late Jack W. Roscoe, entered into eternal rest peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on November 10, 1925, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Maria Meissner von Hohenmeiss. 

Doris was a communicant of St. Paul Episcopal Church of Huntington. She was a retired Realtor, and was president of the former Roscoe Real Estate of Huntington, which was founded in 1965. Doris was past-president of the Bridgeport Board of Realtors and was past vice-president of the CT Association of Realtors. She was past chairman of the Valley Chamber of Commerce and was the recipient of its Gold Seal Award. Doris had been a Huntington resident since 1959. She was an avid skier and skied for years in Vail. Col., with her friend Janet Santa. Doris will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will remain forever in their hearts. 

Her loving family includes her four sons Larry (Patti) Roscoe of Las Vegas, NV, Peter (Erika) Roscoe of The Villages, FL, Harry (Mary Ann) Roscoe of Beacon Falls and Jerry (Susan) Roscoe, Esq. of McLean, VA; her sister Freda Meissner-Blau of Vienna, Austria; eight cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Brian, Jimmy, David, Lauren, Lynsey, Garrett and Isabel; six cherished great-grandchildren Parker, Jonathan, Thomas, Alexa, Abigail and Braden Roscoe and her dear caregiver and friend, Stacy Mitchell. She was predeceased by a brother Peter von Meissner and a sister Marianne Meissner. 

Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, on Friday, January 30, 2015 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. All other funeral services will be private.
