Dorothy Ann (Kondash) Fortier, age 92, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. She is the devoted wife of 71 years to Omer. J. Fortier, Jr.. Dorothy was born in Shelton on May 18, 1932, daughter of the late John M and Elizabeth V. (Sedlock) Kondash, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
She enjoyed camping and gardening, and devoted her life to her home and her family.
She is the cherished mother of Donald Fortier and his wife Meridith, James Fortier, Cheryl (Fortier) Cybart, and Elizabeth (Fortier) Smith and her husband Steve, proud grandmother of Nicole Rogucki (Mike), John Cybart IV (Carol), Emily Fortier, Ellie Fortier, Kyle Fortier, Stephanie Fortier, and Steven Smith, and great grandmother of Robert and Abigail Rogucki and Rhianna Garcia-Smith. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by four brothers, John Estok, Michael Estok, Joseph Kondash, and Frank Kondash, and two sisters, Mary (Estok) Jamba and Irene (Kondash) Yurczyk.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. At 12:30 PM her funeral service will begin in the parlor. Burial will follow at Huntington Lawn Cemetery.
