Dorothy “Dot” Ziemba

Dorothy Dot” Ziemba, age 83 of Derby, entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2011 in Marshall Lane Manor. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter P. Ziemba. Dorothy was born in Shelton on February 26, 1928, daughter of the late Asafat and Mary (Basalyga) Comcowich. 

She was a devoted member of the St. Michael’s Ladies Auxiliary, who loved cooking, rooting for UCONN Women’s Basketball, and most significantly, sharing what she had with her children. Dorothy is the adoring mother of Walter P. Ziemba, Jr. and Mary Lee Allen; and the loving sister of Andrew Comcowich and Tess Hemingway. 

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by siblings Anne Bodyk, Elizabeth, Peter, Michael, and John Comcowich. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. 

Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Derby. Friends are invited directly to Burial which will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Cemetery, Chatfield St., Derby.
