Dorothy (Dotty) Dawley, age 87, of Shelton, comfortably passed away with her family by her side on January 21, 2024.
“Dotty” as her friends and family affectionally called her, was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 4, 1936. Dotti was born into a family of six children. She was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Clotilde (Costa) Bernardino.
Dotty was also predeceased by her husband of 36 years, George Dawley.
Dotty was a fun-loving person with a terrific sense of humor and infectious laugh. She enjoyed typical Rhode Island fare, especially clams and lobster rolls. A life long fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, Dotty would talk and analyze games with her children long after the games were over.
Dotty’s greatest joy was her role as grandmother and great grandmother to several adoring grandchildren.
Dorothy Dawley is survived by her children Matthew Dawley (Jodi), Mark Dawley (Cindy) and Beth Dawley (Bob), several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
On Saturday, January 27, family and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, CT 06484, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
