Dorothy Easter, age 92, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on Monday February 5, 2018 in Griffin Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence Edgar Easter.
She was born on June 24, 1925, daughter of the late William and Mary (Cham) Sherbatiuk and was a Derby resident for most of her life.
Dorothy was an Office Manager for the Engineer Department at the former Southern New England Telephone (now AT&T). She was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball Fan. Dorothy enjoyed attending plays at the Shubert Theatre and going to the Symphony Concerts when they were playing locally at Shelton High School. She was a gardener who like to attend to her yard. After retirement she enjoyed duckpin bowling and her vacation home in Cape Cod. She loved spending time with her family and having Tanner the cat as a constant companion. Dorothy’s family would like to thank her neighbors for always being very attentive to her needs as she aged and most recently the Medical personnel and staff at Griffin Hospital, Storm Ambulance and CT Hospice.
She is the loving mother of Gary Easter, Susan Weglewski and her husband William, and the late Jeffrey L. Easter and his wife Donna, proud grandmother of Edward Easter and his wife Nurie, Julie Easter, Sean Easter and his wife Jessica and Christina Easter, great grandmother of Amirah, Taben, Niyah, and Nora. She was also predeceased by her brother Michael Sarback and her sister Estelle Barrett.
Friends may call on Sunday February 11, from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home , 253 Elizabeth St. Derby, Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
