Dorothy E. (Martin) Fanelli, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was the devoted wife of 46 years of the late Matteo J. Fanelli.
Dorothy was born on October 27, 1934 in Derby, daughter of the late Frederick and Rose (Criscuolo) Martin.
She lived most of her life in Derby where she was married and raised her family as a member of St. Mary’s Parish before moving to Southbury in 2009 and becoming a member of Sacred Heart Parish. She was a caring and devoted homemaker, and absolutely loved being a grandmother.
She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Parker. She is the beloved mother of Frederick Fanelli, Matthew Fanelli and his wife Sharon, Linda Fanelli, and Lori D’Amico and her husband Bob. She leaves six cherished grandchildren, Matthew Fanelli, Angie Fanelli, Sara D’Amico, Michael Fanelli, Kevin Fanelli, Kayla D’Amico and niece and nephew Lenore and Clay Parker along with her loving friend and caregiver Ana Fanning.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, her procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
