Dorothy Magyar, age 88 of Shelton, passed away November 18, 2022. Dorothy was born in Derby, July 26, 1934, daughter of the late James and Elisabeth Jakab Magyar.
Dorothy was a Registered Nurse and was employed by Bridgeport Hospital and later worked as a Recreational Therapist for St. Joseph Manor of Trumbull until her retirement.
Dorothy was a member of the Shelton Senior Center, the 4H Club, Harmony Grange, and the Milford Ski Club.
Dorothy also volunteered at the Stratford Senior Center and St. Joseph Manor. Dorothy was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed nature, flowers, and trees.
Dorothy is survived by nephews James (Elaine), Thomas (Sue), and George Magyar, her nieces Karen Moran (Bob), Maureen Tomei, Barbara Macasay, and Ann Magyar, and her cousins Helen Wakeley and Eleanor Jakab, and many grandnephews and grandnieces.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers John, Theodore, and George Magyar and sister Helen Gillotti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12PM directly at St. Lawrence Church, Shelton.
