Mrs. Dorothy S. Gardella, age 94, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Michael J. Gardella, Sr. entered into peaceful rest on September 5, 2013 at Hewitt Health & Rehabilitation Center in Shelton.
She was born on March 21, 1919 in Ansonia and was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Layzak) Starchak. Mrs. Gardella was a graduate of Ansonia High School, Class of 1938. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and a dispatcher for the Seymour Ambulance Association.
Mrs. Gardella is survived by two sons, Michael Gardella, Jr. and Thomas P. Gardella, Sr. and his wife Arlene all of Seymour and five grandchildren, Christa Mullen and her husband Dan of Wethersfield, Thomas Gardella, Jr and his wife Michelle of Wethersfield, Michael Gardella of NY, NY, Cathryn Gardella and her husband, David of Derby and Amanda Gardella of Milford. She also leaves three great grandchildren, Braedon, Lily and Victoria Gardella and many nieces and nephews. Several Brothers and sisters predeceased her.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 8:45 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia. Interment to follow in St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
