Dorothy T. Saldamarco, age 96, of Derby, entered into rest on Tuesday Feb. 9, 2021 in her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of 64 years to Frank A. Saldamarco.
She was born in Derby on May 18, 1924, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Ida (Anici) Torbi and was a lifelong Derby resident. Dorothy enjoyed movies, luncheons and shopping. She made many memories traveling the world with her husband and good friends. She loved sharing meals with her family and spending holidays and time together with all of her friends and family. Dorothy also loved to entertain with her singing and sense of humor. Her parting words were always “I’ll see ya when I see ya”.
She is the beloved mother of Peggy Ofiero and her husband Ken, Jack Saldamarco and his wife Natalie and Jim Saldamarco and his wife Kim, loving grandmother of Jason and Amy Ofiero, Jessica and Kelsey Saldamarco, Erica Dombroski and her husband Randy, great grandmother of Dominic, Madison, and Frankie Dombroski. She was predeceased by two sisters Ilda and Evelyn Torbi. The family is very grateful for Rachel who helped care for Dorothy for the last 6 years.
A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday February 12, 2021 from 8:30 am – 9:30 AM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby.
Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St. Derby. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required to attend the Mass and Cemetery.
