Dr. William M. Indocci

William M. Indocci M.D., 86, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 28, 2014, in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Buriani Indocci, formerly of Bologna, Italy. 

Dr. Indocci was born in Derby on July 8, 1928, son of the late Alfonso and Bertha Deptula Indocci. He attended local schools and graduated from Hopkins School in New Haven and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He later earned his doctorate in medicine from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy. Dr. Indocci completed his internship at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was a long-time general practitioner on Elizabeth Street in Derby in his father’s former pharmacy, which he maintained in its original condition of the 1930’s.

He is survived by a son, Dennis A. Indocci and his wife Patricia Banks of Terryville, two daughters, June Chi and Nancy Perez of Derby and three grandchildren.

Per Dr. Indocci’s wishes, a private memorial service with inurnment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions in Dr. Indocci’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
