Earle L. Gay, age 90, entered into rest on Wednesday July 13, 2016 in CT Hospice. He was the devoted husband of the late Florence (Lopato) Gay.
Mr. Gay was born in Bridgeport, on October 24, 1925, son of the late Elmore and Nina (Searles) Gay, and was a resident of Derby for over 42 years. He was a veteran of US Navy serving his country during WW II and the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 10585 in Derby. He retired as a foreman from Acme United after many years of employment.
He is the beloved father of Linda Chavanick, Christine Robert (Renald), and Nancy DeGennaro (Dominic). He is the cherished grandfather of Dawn, Stephanie, Michelle, Alan, Danielle and Toni. He also leaves 12 adoring great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is the loving brother of Peter Gay, Patty Sweedler, and the late Shirley Hanks, Sonny, Gil, Donny, Russell and Bruce Gay,
Friends may greet his family on Sunday July 17, 2016 from 3 to 6 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. On Monday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Woodbridge. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Derby.
