Edith (Milone) Como Kichar, age 97, of Hamden entered into her eternal rest on Friday Oct. 21, 2011 in the Hamden Health Care Center. She was the devoted wife to both of her late husband’s Michael Como and John Kichar.
Mrs. Kichar was born in New Haven on July 13, 1914, daughter of the late Pasquale and Lucy Altobello Milone and was an Ansonia resident for many years.
She is the beloved mother of John Como and his wife Genevieve, and Alice D’Andrea, and her husband Pat. The stepmother of Trudy Pertoso, Phyllis Spak, and her husband Andy, Carol Gabianelli, and her husband Albert, and John and David Kichar.
She also leaves her sisters Josephine Petrolle, Ann Ardigliano, and Gloria Capelli, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 13 step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Louise San Giovanni, and Florence Panagrossi, and her brothers Joseph, Peter, and Pasquale Milone.
Friends may greet her family on Tuesday from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. At 9:30 AM her funeral procession will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Holy Rosary Church Ansonia. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery West Haven.
