Edward Albert Holloway

Edward Albert Holloway, age 82, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Anne (Garafolo) Holloway and loving father of Joseph and Jeffrey Holloway.

Eddie was born on February 12, 1942 in Waterbury, the son of the late Leo S. and Stella (Wasnieski) Holloway. Ed was a lifelong Beacon Falls resident and graduated from Naugatuck High School. Ed was an electrician and retired from Yale New Haven Hospital. He was an active member of the community, joining Beacon Hose Company #1 in 1965 where he served as a volunteer fireman and EMT. He chaired/worked many firehouse events including the Firemen’s Ball, Christmas Party, Carnivals and numerous others. Ed loved marching in the Firemen’s Parade and always made sure he had the shiniest black shoes. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves and was a lifetime faithful member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church.

Ed could fix almost anything and was affectionately known to his wife as Mr. Fix-it”. Ed loved taking his family camping, fishing and to our favorite yearly vacation to Cape Cod. He was proud to support both of his sons’ sporting events. Ed truly enjoyed the outdoors and treasured the moments when his sons would ask him to take them fishing at Matthies Park. It was a place where they could end the week on a good note and do something fun. These memories will always be cherished.

In addition to his wife Mary Anne of 57 years, Ed leaves his family to honor his legacy, Joseph and Jeffrey Holloway; his brother Thomas Holloway; his sisters Barbara Caron and Carol Buehler and many, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Leo Holloway, Jr. and sisters, Jeanne Nelson and Patricia Betkoski.
